Up and Go SUP
Migrating a surf & SUP school from Wix to a custom WordPress theme, with a focus on local SEO and online bookings.
The client — the surf & SUP school “Up and Go”, in Azurara — had its site on Wix and paid a lot to keep it online, with little control and weak visibility. It needed a presence that was cheaper to maintain, truly its own, and above all more findable by people looking for lessons and tours in the area.
Once again, my WordPress experience made the choice obvious: a custom theme, with full control over design and structure — and local SEO at the center of the decisions, because that’s what a proximity business depends on. Dedicated pages per service (Surf, Stand Up Paddle) and a direct contact/booking flow.
A custom WordPress website, optimized for local SEO, with the experiences well presented (lessons, sunset sessions, SUP tours on the Paiva river), location (Azurara beach), ASSUP certification and an online contact/booking channel.
The school moved from a high monthly fee on Wix to a site of its own, cheaper to maintain and built to be found — with a consolidated presence (referenced in local tourism and with positive reviews on third-party platforms). (No traffic metrics available.)
